Alienation became the lens for this project because it names a familiar split, the distance between what we feel and what the world reflects back. It appears in crowded rooms, in moments of disconnection, or in mirrors that return a version of us that feels slightly displaced. This exhibition maps those quiet fractures.

Becoming the Artwork turns that experience inward. Your image is captured and re-generated by AI, placing you directly inside these scenes of estrangement. The machine renders you with precision yet without interiority,  a version of you that is recognisable but subtly wrong, a face that looks like yours but feels like a mask without breath.
In that moment, you are no longer looking at alienation; you are inhabiting it.

The work is built on shared authorship: the artist sets the structure, the AI interprets and transforms, and the viewer completes the piece through presence. Each image holds the tension between human emotion, machine perception, and the unstable space of identity.

Here, the artwork is never fixed. It shifts with every participant.
You enter the image, and the image returns you, slightly changed.
